Killer Coke at Richmond seminaries
posted under
I read in the Earlham Word last week about the college's Progressive Union's attempt to make Earlham a Coke-free campus. I'm a student at Bethany Theological Seminary, which shares its campus with the college, and noticed that we, along with Earlham School of Religion, both sell Coca-Cola products in vending machines.Besides the fact that I think it's just odd for seminaries--where peolpe are supposed to be learning how to be whole and healthy--to sell sugar-loaded drinks and foods, I believe that the seminaries could and should lead the way toward making Earlham Coca-Cola-free.If anyone would like to join me in appraoching the seminaries about this, drop me a line at polintr [ at ] earlham . edu.

Coke only at one seminary
I was mistaken when I wrote that both Bethany and Earlham School of Religion sell Coca-Cola in their vending machines. I spoke with the president of Bethany, and he said they had removed Coca-Cola from their machines about ten years ago when similar concerns arose. But Earlham School of Religion still sells Coke, so the job is not over.
