On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Earlham women's soccer team will conduct a silent auction in the lobby of the Athletics and Wellness Center on the campus of Earlham College from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A large number of items will be up for bid in the silent auction benefiting the Earlham women's soccer team European trip and annual the National Girls and Women in Sport Day coming later this winter.

Autographed sports memorabilia, accommodations in Hawaii, Jamaica and other hotels, tickets for sports and entertainment events, artwork, and restaurant gift certificates will all be available to the highest bidder. "We are extremely appreciative of the donations we have received," Earlham Head Women's Soccer Coach Jim Watts said. "There are so many items, and our student-athletes are committed to making this auction a success."

Watts and his players have raised around 20 percent of the funds needed for the team's visit to Belgium, Germany and Holland in August 2008
