Native American New Year Sobriety Powwow

The Pal-Item is reporting on the Native American New Year Sobriety Powwow at the Townsend Community Center. The powwow is a three-day event that started Saturday and resumes at 10 a.m. today as they will ring in the New Year on Monday. Pat Thompson, who was one of the event organizers, defined a powwow as a gathering of Native Americans who let the rest of the world see the different aspects of their culture.
