This powerful documentary tells the story of the double explosion that rocked downtown Richmond on April 6, 1968. Using recorded interviews with survivors intermixed with graphic still images and archival news footage, this powerful documentary explores the tragedy of that day as well as its aftermath and impact on Richmond and its people, all set amidst the tumultuous social unrest of the 1960’s.

“1:47” was written and directed by Jean Harper and produced and edited by Zack Parker, both Richmond residents. The title of the film refers to the fateful moment at which the explosions occurred.
