The Conflict Resolution Center reeived a grant to offer two trainings - Family Group Conferencing and Family Group Decision Making. CRC would recommend the first of these for those interested in learning whether or how to incorporate Conferencing Circles. This training is offered at no cost (donations accepted). The trainings are as follows:

March 19-20 Family Group Conferencing - 8:30-4:30 p.m.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., lunch is provided.

March 21-22 Family Group Decision Making - 8:30-4:30 p.m.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., lunch is provided.

Restorative Practices focus on repairing harm done to people and relationships. The underlying principle is that human beings are happier, more cooperative and productive, and more likely to make positive changes in their behavior when those in positions of authority to things with them rather than to them or for them.

Conference Circles can be used in neighborhoods, schools and with families to deal with harm that has been done or to help people make a decisoin.

The International Institute for Restorative Practices has developed and utilized Conference Cirles, among other approaches, to foster positive behavior among the delinquent and other trouble youth who attend its eight schools in southeastern Pennsylvania. The teachers and administrative staff offer ways of responding to problem behavior that: hold young people accountable, enhance relationships among students, faculty, administrators and parents, and build and sense of community in the school.

Please contact the CRC if you have any interest in attending. Phone: (765) 973-8511 or email bobbi@conflictrescenter.org.
