News Radio Training Start: 5:00 pm End: 7:32 pm Veteran broadcast journalist and Earlham College alum Howell Gatchell offers an instructional session on broadcast news this Thursday, October 12, 5 p.m. at WECI 91.5 FM, Richmond's Public Radio Station. The session is focused toward a broadcast journalism class but includes some nuggets of broadcast wisdom for all. For more information, call WECI at (765) 983-1246. County Legislative Debate Start: 6:00 pm End: 10:00 pm The Legislative Committee of the Richmond-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce has organized the fall legislative debates. They will be held at IU East, Whitewater Hall, Vivian Auditorium. Candidates will be given the opportunity to present an opening statement and then answer questions presented by the moderator. On October 12th, we'll have the following debates: Wayne County Assessor County Commissioner, District 1 Disability Awareness Awards Start: 7:00 pm End: 9:00 pm The Council on Disability Awareness presents the David Gerwig-Carol Patterson 23rd Annual Awards Program on Thursday, October 12, 2006. A selection of cheesecakes will be served at 7:00 p.m. at the First English Luthern Church, 2727 National Road East, Richmond, Indiana. $6/person - payment must accompany reservation.
