The parade is free to spectators and participants. From the Pal-Item: Local bus riders can take a trip for a donation of food Monday. It is Richmond Roseview Transit's “food for fare” day. Food collected during the day will be donated to the local food pantries for the Christmas holidays. Buses run between 6:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. The fare is normally $1.50 or $1.25 for senior citizens and students. For more information, call Roseview Transit System at (765) 983-7227. | ||

One of the Largest Holiday Events in Richmond Wayne County Kicks Off Friday Night in Uptown Richmond. Main Street Richmond Wayne County announces Uptown Richmond’s 1st annual Ice Fest on December 8th and 9th as a part of their holiday program “Signs of Season” a month long celebration in Uptown Richmond. On display along Main Street from 5th to 10th Street there will be twenty lighted ice sculptures; some of the most original, celebrated holiday “signs” ever sculpted in ice, guaranteed to become a must-experience holiday tradition for families of East Central Indiana. National Ice Designer, Stephan Koch, from Indiana Ice Studio will be on hand on Friday night at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. for a live ice carving demonstration along Main Street in Uptown Richmond. | ||

For three years now, the Co-op has held an bazaar which showcases local artistry and crafts, as well as international gifts, holiday cards, calendars and more. Saturday December 9th will be a lively festive day at the Co-op. A Mozart 250th Birthday Celebration Concert The Richmond Chorale and Earlham’s Concert Choir and Orchestra along with special guests present this concert in celebration of the music of Mozart. According to a Pal-Item story: Hagerstown author to sign books Friday in Richmond - Readmore Etc.at 901 E. Main St. in Richmond will host a book signing from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday with Hagerstown author Angelica Reyna. Reyna recently finished a novel, "Last Ride on the Ferry," that is set in Los Ebanos, Texas. It is based on her life as a migrant worker and American of Mexican descent. The family in the book became migrant workers in the 1940s and encountered "adventure, hardships as well as amusing times." Reyna has lived in Wayne County for 43 years. | ||
