The 11th annual Rotary Quiz Bowl is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Indiana University East's Vivian Auditorium, 2325 Chester Blvd., Richmond. Funds raised from the event are donated to literacy projects. Three-member teams pay $100 to compete. They will answer questions about history, sports, music, and other subjects. Earlham College is sponsoring the Swingsation Benefit Concert tonight, a fund-raiser for the local United Way. A jazz ensemble will provide the music for the 8 p.m. concert in the school's Runyon Center. The show will be preceded by a one-hour swing dance instruction program at 7 p.m. Tickets, which are $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens, are available in the Fine Arts Office. | ||

Beginning on February 20th, the Cope Environmental Center and the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service will offer the Indiana Master Naturalist Program. The program provides indoor and outdoor experiences to learn about Indiana's soil, geology, birds, forests, wildlfowers and more. Participants who attend at least seven of the eight classes and complete 24 hours of volunteer service will be certified and receive an Indiana Master Naturalist pin. Classes will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Feb. 20 at the Cope Center education building. Registrations are being accepted and space is limited. | ||

A leaderful community is essential in the 21st century. Everyone must have the capacities to make the community work. This intensive workshop will help you understand what makes an effective community, discover your gifts and talents, and learn to create and work in performing teams, transforming challenges into possibilities. As part of Earlham College's partnership agreement with Recycle Force they have organized a Computer Recycling Event: Saturday, February 24th 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Carpenter Hall Parking Lot They will accept desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, keyboards, computer peripherals, televisions, microwaves, and cell phones. There will be a $10.00 fee per vehicle to help support the event. They strongly encourage you to carpool with friends and family to save money and help reduce emissions. Recycle Force, LLC is an Indianapolis based back-to-work program for ex-offenders that is dedicated to "Rebuilding Lives while Recycling Computers."
