Wayne County SWCD Fall Fundraiser Begins Start: 8:00 am End: 4:00 pm The Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is conducting their Fall 2008 Fundraiser of container grown trees and shrubs through Friday, September 26, 2008. The sale encourages the promotion of sound conservation practices and helps to fund the many educational and outreach programs that the SWCD provides to the public throughout the year. A variety of native trees and shrubs including varieties known for their beautiful flowers and brilliant fall colors are available in 1, 3, 5, and 15 gallon Root Force grown containers. 100 mile radius potluck: September Start: 6:30 pm End: 8:00 pm Eating locally is as good for our ecosystems as it is for our bodies! If you'd like to practice eating locally and hang out with groovy folks, come to a 100 mile radius potluck on Wednesday, September 10 at 6:30pm at Clear Creek Park (on W Main next to the municipal pool. The goal of a 100 mile radius potluck is to only bring food that was grown within and processed within 100 miles of Richmond.
