100-Mile Radius Potluck: December
posted under
It's time for the most challenging potluck yet! Whether it's your 1st or 6th, please join us for a 100-Mile Radius Potluck!
What do you love about local food? The taste? The safety? The sustainability? The joy? Celebrate these reasons and more - meet new people, see friends and eat delicious food!
The December potluck will be on Wednesday, (Dec. 3) at 6:30pm in Orchard Room, Runyan Center at Earlham College. This won't be a dinner we can cook for the night before - this will take a bit more forethought! You can browse a local food guide listing dozens of farms within 30 miles of Richmond, but here are a couple highlights:
- Today's Harvest Farm: open Friday and Saturday 10-6 (though the website does not reflect this), onions, sweet and regular potatoes, at least 3 kinds of squash, and baked goods (for a limited time)
- Clear Creek Co-op: open Saturday and Sunday 12-5, Monday-Wednesday 11-8, whole wheat flour, cornmeal, dairy products, honey, pears, eggs (sometimes)
- Boulder Belt Organics: open by appointment (call or email to order), kale, various squash, various potatoes, parsnips, leeks, garlic, and more!
Come with or without food and your own dishes, if you can. Bring friends, too! The potluck is sponsored by Progressive Wayne County.
