Starting on June 10th at 9AM in Oceanside, California, bicyclists will begin
RAAM a non-stop coast-to-coast bike race ending in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The course for this national event comes right through Wayne County along National Road. Teams in this event may cover close to 600 miles on some days, with some individuals riding 23 hours a day.

This year, there is four man Hoosier team, featuring an average age of 60 for the riders, and three Indiana natives. One rider I've had the pleasure to meet, Dave Tanner, is no stranger to this stretch of national road— last year he completed his 20th consecutive RAIN ride&mdash the annual cross-state which covers 159 miles in one day.

Once the race starts, you can track the progress of the teams through the website, then get out to 40 and cheer on these athletes as they pass through town.
