The Untouchable Times Speakeasy Gala is happening 6:30-11 p.m. this Saturday at Forest Hills Country Club. The gala will feature the West End Jazz Band from Chicago with 1920s dances performed in costume by the Flying Cloud Academy of Vintage Dance of Cincinnati. The event is a benefit for the Starr-Gennett Foundation, which seeks to promote and preserve the legacy of Gennett Records and its parent organization, the Starr Piano Company. Music pioneers such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Gene Autry and Lawrence Welk recorded at Gennett Studios in Richmond. For more information, see the Starr-Gennett website.
