Citizens petition City Council for leadership on sewer matter

posted under

The Palladium-Item has a story out today about what sounds like a very lively Richmond Common Council meeting last night related to the proposed $6 fee to help handle problems with stormwater and sewer flooding in the City.

One of the most impassioned was Doug Bennett, Earlham College president, who lives on College Avenue. Bennett said he and his family have lived for nine years with "human fecal matter" backing up into his house. "Nine years this has gone on without somebody saying, 'My God, we've got a crisis on our hands.' I want to hear from the city council. I want your leadership. I want to hear that you are championing resolving this matter."
