Local activist honors MLK on national radio

posted under

Richmond resident Matt Guynn is a part of a activist-oriented training network called Training for Change. Last week, he was in Philadelphia for a training at TFC, and his group was called up by a radio journalist from the show "Weekend America," looking for a group of nonviolent activists to be interviewed for their MLK-focused show, broadcast on January 13th. You can listen to the segment from the Weekend America website.

During the interview, they played a set of clips from Dr. King's speeches, and asked the activists to respond about their relevance for today. Guynn was one of the four interviewed, along with Nico Amador (an activist working on GLBTQ and people of color liberation southern California), Daniel Hunter (Richmond native who is currently working to stop casinos in Philadelphia), and George Lakey (recently retired director of Training for Change).
