Call for entries: exhibition of Richmond area artists

The Richmond Art Museum has announced a call for entries for the 112th Annual Exhibition of Richmond and area artists. The competition is open to all artists age 18 and over who live or have lived within 100 miles of Richmond, Indiana. Categories include painting, drawing, prints, sculpture, photography, computer generated art, and fine crafts. Awards include over $2,000 in cash prizes and other purchased prizes.

Richmond Art Museum hosts Painting Indiana exhibit

The Richmond Art Museum has been chosen as the host site for the 10th Anniversary celebration of the Painting Indiana Project and book. To mark the occasion, an exhibition of paintings done by Robert Eberle, Ronald Mack, Don Russell and Dan Woodson will be on display in the galleries of the Richmond Art Museum from August 22 through October 10th. The exhibition will feature new works from each artist and will feature a catalogue of exhibition. The artists will be available to sign copies of the catalogue during the exhibit opening.

Prophets Fest music and camping festival

Prophets Fest is a 24-hour music and camping festival held each year on a bucolic family farm three miles south of Richmond. This year’s event begins on August 28th, 2010. All genres of music can be heard (and danced to), including Reggae, Rock, Dubstep, Funk, Jam, Bluegrass, and more.
