Every year on September 21st the World Council of Churches encourages people of faith around the world to pause and pray that peace might prevail in our broken, war-torn world. Poems that should never be read in church
Aug 25th
Local poet Travis Poling has published an electronic edition of his book, Poems That Should Never Be Read in Church:
These words and stories explore the depths of joy and fear, life and death, seeing and naming, regardless of what our religious and other social institutions reward or repress. They are poems that should never—and therefore always—be read in church. Likewise, they should be read in bars, coffee shops, offices, court rooms, bed rooms, kitchens, museums, parks, and anywhere else the full breadth and depth of living is to be experienced.
You can purchase the book as a PDF, or as an e-book for your Kindle or Nook reader.
