The Newlin Center for Quaker Thought is sponsoring Melanie Weidner, a Quaker contemplative artist and spiritual director, at the Richmond Art Museum on April 10 as part of a week-long residency. Her project, The Passion of the Earth, is an exciting eco-spirituality project retelling the creation story and an invitation to re-understand the care for our earth through the art of fabric. The story has been created in seven fabric panels which will be on display. The event is free to the public and no tickets are required. The Richmond Art Museum is located at 350 Hub Etchison Parkway in Richmond. (765) 966-0256 or www.richmondartmuseum.org for more info.

Richmond Art Museum presents "Taste of Cherry" (1998, Directed by Abbas Kiarostami).
Winner of the Palme d’Or prize at the Cannes Film Festival the year it was released, Taste of Cherry follows middle-aged Mr. Badii through the streets of Tehran as he seeks someone to assist him with his plan to end his own life. The people he encounters challenge his thinking in a variety of ways, but will they actually change his mind? This Iranian film was made by a man many consider to be one of the greatest living filmmakers.
