Please join us at Arden Hearth, 202 N. 15th St., for an elegant evening of sharing recitations and readings of poems or short excerpts from your favorite books. If all books were to be destroyed by fire, what fragments of literary greatness would you snatch from the flames? What lines of poetry are etched in your memory safe from the fate of ashes? Giving Voice: Poetry and Empathy
Submitted by anna lisa gross on November 15, 2008 - 9:12pm.posted under
When poetry works, it becomes a line of connection between people – the writer, the people whose lives are captured in the poem, readers, and still others. Ironically, this powerful aspect of poetry may be one reason why so many people go out of their way to NOT read poetry – and it may also be why, when people are finally confronted with poetry, they are so glad! Creative writing professor David Ebenbach will share with us. Come for hearty conversation and free lunch!

Discussion group created for local cycling interests
Submitted by Progressive WC on March 25, 2007 - 9:10pm.posted under
Mark Stosberg wrote, "I'm setting up a discussion group for all things bicycle-related around Richmond, Indiana. This will include announcements of upcoming rides and discussions of how to make this a better community for cyclists.
Whether you want to participate actively or infrequently, I encourage to you to join, because Google has options to allow you to get as much or as little e-mail from the group and still be involved.
Some of us recently discussed getting together for a ride next weekend, and planning that will be the first order of business!"
Visit the group's website at its Google Groups: Bike Richmond page.
