Wayne County Political Candidates Debate

The Richmond-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce debate begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Indiana University East's Vivian Auditorium in Whitewater Hall. The two-hour debate is open to the public and also airing live on Whitewater Community Television.

WCTV to provide coverage of national political conventions

Starting next week, for the first time, WCTV will be joining other public access television centers across the nation for live and tape-delayed coverage of the Republican, Democratic, and Green Party Conventions.

Here are the updated Channel 20 listings for the week of Sunday August 24th to Saturday August 30th:

Voter Registration Deadline

October 9th is the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming November Election.

Also note that a Rock the Vote concert happening at the Fourth Street Fair. Bands will play and there will be several people and booths registering people to vote. If you or anyone you know is not registered, please come and get registered to vote.

Election Day- May 8, 2007. The vote centers will be open from 6 AM to 6 PM local time:
* First English Lutheran Church
* Kuhlman Center
* Discovery School (Hibbard)
* Townsend Center

Can’t make it to the polls election day? Satellite voting:

Satellite voting is available at the following sites
Daily--April 30 through May 4--10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.:
* First English Lutheran Church,2727 National Rd East
* Kuhlman Center,861 N Salisbury Rd.

Absentee Voting:
Qualifying voters may vote absentee-by-mail or absentee-by traveling
board. Voters also have the option of voting absentee-in-person:

Wayne County Courthouse-Voter Registration Office
Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Union County traveling board takes ballots to disabled or confined voters.

The traveling board will bring a ballot to disabled or confined voters who wish to cast a vote but are unable to travel to their precinct polling place. Representatives from both parties will be available to assist. To schedule a visit from the traveling board, call the Union County Clerk at (765) 458-6121.

In this general election we'll be voting on a variety of offices:

  • U.S. Senate - one seat
  • Secretary of State, Auditor of State, and Treasurer of State
  • U.S. House of Representatives - all 9 seats
  • Indiana State Senate - 25 of the 50 seats
  • Indiana House of Representatives - all 100 seats
  • other statewide elections
