Rotary Quiz Bowl

The 11th annual Rotary Quiz Bowl is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Indiana University East's Vivian Auditorium, 2325 Chester Blvd., Richmond.

Funds raised from the event are donated to literacy projects. Three-member teams pay $100 to compete. They will answer questions about history, sports, music, and other subjects.

Positive Parenting with a Plan

Three free workshops will be offered Nov. 3 and 4 to help parents and children develop a more healthy and functional family.

Dr. Matthew Johnson will lead the sessions. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in Grants Pass, Ore., and is the author of "Positive Parenting with a Plan: FAMILY Rules" and is the president and founder of FAMILY RULES Inc.  continue reading »

11th Annual Community Baby Shower Saturday, October 14, 2006 11 AM to 1 PM at the Townsend Community Center, 855 North 12th Street. FOR FIRST TIME MOTHERS-TO-BE OR FIRST TIME MOTHERS WITH BABY UP TO ONE YEAR OLD. Phone registration begins Monday, October 2. Must register to attend. May bring one guest only and baby.
