Earlier this morning, Chris Nolte from 1490 WKBV AM interviewed Anna Lisa Gross, who has tirelessly coordinated the 100-Mile Radius Potlucks sponsored by ProgressiveWayneCounty.org in July, August, and tomorrow night for September. Eating locally is as good for our ecosystems as it is for our bodies! If you'd like to practice eating locally and hang out with groovy folks, come to a 100 mile radius potluck on Wednesday, September 10 at 6:30pm at Clear Creek Park (on W Main next to the municipal pool.
The goal of a 100 mile radius potluck is to only bring food that was grown within and processed within 100 miles of Richmond. continue reading »

Eating locally is as good for our ecosystems as it is for our bodies! If you'd like to practice eating locally and hang out with groovy folks, come to a 100 mile radius potluck on Wednesday, July 2 at 6pm in Clear Creek Park in Richmond (on W Main next to the municipal pool).
What is a 100 mile radius potluck? All the food you bring should have been grown/raised/created within 100 miles of your home. This doesn't mean that Twinkies from Fort Wayne are fair game, since the sugar probably came from Brazil, and the Polysorbate 20 isn't native to ANY ecosystem. March for Peace coming through Richmond

Everyone is invited to welcome the members of a cross-country March for Peace that will be arriving in Richmond Saturday evening, 8/18/2007. This is a group that left California in May and hopes to make it to Washington, DC by September 11th. The following events are planned to welcome them:
6:00 PM -- Greet the marchers at the main entrance to Earlham College, 815 National Road West.
6:15 PM -- Walk with the marchers on the last mile and a half of the day, east into downtown Richmond and north to Renaissance House.
7:00 PM -- Community potluck meal at Renaissance House, 302 N 11th St.
People that could be there for the welcoming at 6 are especially needed. continue reading »
